Bridging Worldsheet CFTs and Wormholes

САЖЕТАК:

I will review aspects of wormholes that were argued to capture quantum chaos and information preservation in black hole physics. Problematic issues with wormholes – the factorization problem and quantum coherence loss – will be reviewed as well. Then, I will provide several examples of two dimensional conformal field theories on the worldsheet that describe string propagation in Euclidean wormholes, a traversable Lorentzian wormhole, and a double-cone wormhole target spacetimes. If time will permit, I will describe other examples of wormholes in the worldsheet formalism. The main lessons are that (a) classical string theory admits exact solutions of wormholes times internal CFTs and (b) wormholes for which the length scale of the throat is set by the string scale are incorporated.
