Pinning Down the Higgs–Top Yukawa Coupling with the ATLAS Experiment

САЖЕТАК:

The discovery of the Higgs boson by the ATLAS and CMS experiments at CERN’s Large Hadron Collider in 2012 marked a major milestone in particle physics, completing the Standard Model while opening a new era of precision studies of the Higgs sector. A central objective of the LHC physics programme is the precise determination of the Higgs boson’s interactions with the fundamental particles. Among these, the Yukawa coupling between the Higgs boson and the top quark is of particular importance, as the top quark is the heaviest known elementary particle and has the strongest coupling to the Higgs field. Precise measurements of the top-quark Yukawa coupling provide stringent tests of the Standard Model and offer a sensitive probe of possible physics beyond it.

This seminar will present the latest ATLAS measurements of the top-quark Yukawa coupling, with particular emphasis on Higgs boson production in association with top quarks. The experimental challenges, modern analysis techniques, recent results, and prospects for measurements at the High-Luminosity LHC will be discussed. The seminar will highlight analyses to which the speaker has made significant contributions.
