M-theory from Membranes
САЖЕТАК:
In this talk we examine whether the M-theory path integral admits an expansion into membrane saddles, which we subsequently semi-classically quantize. We highlight a subtle dependence on ensemble choices in this observable, and relatedly comment on the possibility to instead expand the path integral into five-brane saddles. We test these ideas in holographic geometries against supersymmetric field theory observables, and as a by-product provide new predictions for the appropriate boundary theories.
