GARDEN OF PHYSICS Episode 22
How to resist pseudoscience?
Guests: Marija Đurić and Slobodan Bubnjević

After a string of diverse topic discussed by researchers of the Institute of Physics, Belgrade, the finale of the first season of ‘The Garden of Physics’ series is dedicated to the communication of science. With a slew of misconceptions, conspiracy theories and pseudoscientific beliefs growing these days, the episode answers the question of how to resist pseudoscience.

‘Pseudoscience can have a significant detrimental effect. This is something modern societies should take into account and somehow invest in the so-called fight against pseudoscience’, says Slobodan Bubnjević, a scientific journalist of the Institute of Physics, Belgrade explaining that if science does not give its own outlook, the audience will seek alternative interpretations of the world.

‘The best manner is providing as much relevant information as possible and presenting detailed explanations of why something is not science and why it is incorrect’, states Marija Đurić, a scientific journalist of the Institute of Physics, Belgrade asserting that science gains additional significance if understood outside the laboratory.

Realized in cooperation with the portal ’Science Through Stories’, each episode of ’The Garden of Physics’ is dedicated to one of the fundamental topics of modern science, whether it is the greatest secrets of our times or research indicating unexpected horizons in the perception of the world.
