Humanitarian actions

The Institute of Physics is a regular donor and participant in numerous humanitarian actions, most frequently in humanitarian actions of the Diocese of Raška-Prizren.

As a result of raised funds, over the years, livestock was purchased, a dilapidated house was restored, financial aid was enlisted, and several colleagues have had the opportunity, in recent years, to visit the Diocese, and personally witness dire conditions people live in.

Invited by the Diocese of Raška-Prizren and Bishop Teodosije, in the spring of 2021, the IPB’s employees, as well as associates, retired colleagues and former colleagues who live abroad, raised money for sandwiches for students who walk to school and for keeping up the work of a soup kitchen at the Granačica Monastery. In this soup kitchen, around 2000 hot meals are prepared for underprivileged regions of the Diocese.

As many as 111 people joined the action, giving individual donations. Because of this, the Institute raised the sum of 800.000 RSD to donate to the soup kitchen.

On this occasion, the Diocese presented the Institute with a charter.

In 2022, the Institute also answered the call for humanitarian action to raise funds for the work of the soup kitchen at the Gračanica Monastery. There will be regular reports on received financial aid and the ways it will be used.
