Lymphoblastic leukaemia and lymphoma account for ~40% of all childhood cancers, but the causes remain unknown. Studying basic biological mechanisms in patients with genetic predisposition should further its understanding. International collaboration is crucial, and this action focuses on biology, epidemiology, treatment, counselling, psychological impact and ethical-legal-social implications.
