Space Weather Conference

01. July 2025.

The International Space Weather Conference, titled Meeting on Operational and Research Capabilities for Better Understanding Solar-Terrestrial Interactions, will be held from September 29 to October 3, 2025 at the Institute of Physics in Belgrade.

This international conference will bring together researchers and experts to examine the impacts of space weather on Earth and terrestrial systems, including satellite operations, power grids, communications, navigation, aviation, and human health.

Some of the conference topics will include research into solar radiation, solar wind, solar magnetic field variations, and their impacts on Earth’s magnetosphere, ionosphere, atmosphere, and climate. Despite the progress made in recent decades, the reliability of predictions of solar-induced events remains limited.

The Meeting on Operational and Research Capabilities for Better Understanding Solar-Terrestrial Interactions is the first of its kind to be organized with the aim of linking observational, theoretical and operational approaches to the study of these phenomena, as well as to encourage the development of integrated solutions for improving prognostic models and early warning systems, which could contribute to better prevention of potentially negative impacts on Earth systems.

The objectives of the conference include understanding the impact of space weather on infrastructure and technology, encouraging interdisciplinary collaboration, improving real-time monitoring and forecasting tools, applying artificial intelligence and modern theoretical models, and strengthening international cooperation.

Participants will have the opportunity to present scientific results, attend plenary lectures and participate in discussions on the issues of cosmic time and finding practical solutions to current challenges in this field. The deadline for submitting abstracts and registeration is September 1, 2025.
