One of the oldest seminars of the Institute of Physics Belgrade, dedicated to the history of science and the theory of knowledge, was renewed on November 14, 2023.
The seminar was founded in 1995 by prof. Dr. Petar Grujić, who organized hundreds of meetings over the course of two decades. Dr. Nenad Simonović (Institute of Physics), Dr. Milan Ćirković (Astronomical Observatory) and Dr. Aleksandar Belić (Institute of Physics) have led the seminar organization since 2017.
The seminar, traditionally held on Tuesdays from 1:00 p.m., was attended by distinguished philosophers, historians, astrophysicists, engineers and numerous other intellectuals from the University and beyond.
The renewed seminar gathered a large number of visitors, and the lecture was given by Slobodan Bubnjević from the Institute of Physics’ Department of Communications, author of the book “Alchemy of Bombs”. At the seminar, Bubnjević spoke about the history and consequences of the nuclear technology development.
