The goal of the project is a contribution to the understanding of high-temperature superconductivity. The materials with this property have important industrial applications, but it is necessary to cool them at extremely low temperatures, therefore they cease to be super-conductors. These bad conductors, also known as ’strange metals’ hide a great mystery whose solution would help the understanding of high-temperature superconductivity. Researchers working on the project strive to unravel it using systematic numerical simulation of the Hubbard model, comparing results with quantum simulations and phenomenological and gravitational theories.
