01. December 2022.

After Dr Sofija Stefanović of the Faculty of Philosophy in Belgrade and Dr Magdalena Đorđević of the Institute of Physics, Belgrade won the first ERC grants in the previous decade, another researcher from the IPB won this prestigious grant from the European Research Council (ERC).

The third ERC grant in the history of Serbian science, worth € 1.5 million, was awarded to Dr Jakša Vučičević for research into complex systems, which could bring about tectonic shifts in the study of high-temperature superconductors and other open-ended questions of solid state physics.

A press conference, on the occasion of the awarded ERC grant, was held at the Dr Dragan Popović Library reading room, at the IPB, on Tuesday, 29 November 2022. Dr Jelena Begović, the minister of science, innovation and technological development, Dr Aleksandar Bogojević, the IPB director, and Dr Jakša VUčičević, the recipient of the ERC Starting Grant of the European Commission, addressed the audience.
