The Faculty of Mathematics of the University of Belgrade celebrated the 150th anniversary of work at the end of the year. A ceremonial session held at the MTS Hall in Belgrade marked a century and a half of the foundation of the Department of Mathematics at the then-Natural Science and Mathematics Department of the Faculty of Philosophy which developed into the Faculty of Natural Sciences and Mathematics in 1947, which then gave birth to the Faculty of Mathematics in 1995.
Representatives of state establishments, educational institutions, professors, graduates and students attended the ceremonial session, and the Faculty of Mathematics presented charters of recognition to institutions it cooperates with. The Institute of Physics Belgrade received the Charter of Recognition and Dr Aleksandar Belić accepted the Charter on behalf of the Institute.
