Three-day workshop within the BioQantSense twinning project

19. March 2024.

A three-day workshop within the BioQantSense twinning project has begun at the Institute of Physics Belgrade. Guest from the National Institute of Optics, Florence, of the National Research Council of Italy (Istituto Nazionale di Ottica, CNR-INO) is visiting the Institute. Project management and administration are the focus of the project partners from Italy and Serbia during this visit.

During her three-day stay at the Institute, Giulia Adembri, Project Manager at the National Institute of Optics Grant Office, will share experiences, practices and procedures from her parent research institution, which has around 180 employees and participates in a large number of international projects.

Topics for discussion are, among others, innovation and technology transfer, cooperation with the non-scientific sector, the CNR centralized project management system, ways to improve grant supporting activities, scientific cooperation, connections and funding opportunities, attracting young researchers, and others.

The aim of this twinning project is to connect research institutions of European Union countries – in this case Germany and Italy – with similar institutions from the candidate countries.

BioQantSense project (Twinning for excellence of the Serbian Research center for quantum biophotonics) is coordinated by the Institute of Physics Belgrade, in partnership with the National Research Council of Italy (Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche), Friedrich Schiller University of Jena, Germany (Friedrich-Schiller- Universitat Jena) and Faculty of Biology, University of Belgrade.

The project aims to raise the excellence and reputation of the Institute of Physics within the framework of international cooperation in scientific, managerial and administrative aspects. The field of quantum biophotonics will be established and developed at the Institute as part of the project, and various research aspects of biophotonics will be upgraded.
