06. April 2023.

The researchers of the Institute of Physics won two more Science Fund projects. Namely, in April 2023 the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia published a list of 20 projects approved for financing over the next two years as part of the Green Program for science and business cooperation. Two projects of the Institute of Physics Belgrade were listed among them.

The BioPhysFUN (Advanced Biophysical Methods for Soil Targeted Fungi-Based Biocontrol Agents) project’s PI is Dr. Aleksandar Krmpot, Full Research Professor at the Institute of Physics, and the Faculty of Biology – University of Belgrade and the Institute for Biological Research “Siniša Stanković” are the project partners.

The PI of the IonCleanTech project (Elimination of respirable airborne particles, microplastics, microorganisms, and VOCs by ionization of indoor air and filtration systems: comprehensive investigation for reliable technological answers) is Dr. Predrag Kolarž, Associate Research Professor at the Institute of Physics Belgrade, and the Faculty of Medicine – University of Belgrade and the Faculty of Veterinary Medicine – University of Belgrade are the project partners.

These two projects total budget is approximately 347,000 euros.

The Green Program, as stated on the Science Fund website, is intended to provide practical support for the science and the economic sector cooperation, based on the available scientific potential usage and support for sustainable development and raising the environmental quality level.

215 researchers from 37 scientific research organizations from Belgrade, Novi Sad, Kragujevac and Čačak will participate in 20 projects, and the Institute of Physics Belgrade, the Faculty of Mechanical Engineering – University of Belgrade and the Institute of Chemistry, Technology and Metallurgy were the most successful.

The researchers of the Institute of Physics Belgrade have won funds with their ideas at each of the calls so far, so that an enviable number of Science Fund projects are realized at the Institute.
