On Tuesday, September 5, 2023, prof. Dr. Đorđe Minić (Department of Physics, Virginia Tech) gave a lecture at the Institute of Physics Belgrade as part of the Group for Gravitation, Particles and Fields’ seminars.
The lecture entitled “Quantum gravity = Gravitized quantum theory” was held in the “Zvonko Marić” hall.
Prof. Dr. Đorđe Minić is the “Marko Jarić” award winner for 2020. This prestigious award was given to him, as the jury’s announcement states, for “an outstanding contribution to the development of string theory and quantum gravity theory.”
The 2021 laureate was announced at an online ceremony due to the covid 19 pandemic, and Prof. Dr. Minić’ visit to the Institute was an opportunity to present him the diploma and the monetary part of the award.
Dr. Aleksandar Bogojevic, Institute of Physics’ director, presented the award to the winner after the lecture on behalf of “Prof. Dr. Marko V. Jarić” Foundation and the Institute of Physics Belgrade.
