Popular lecture by eminent physicist John Ellis at the National Museum

24. May 2023.

Institute of Physics Belgrade will organize a public lecture by Jonathan Ellis, professor at King’s College London and one of the most respected physicists today, back-to-back with the prestigious LHCP conference, which gathers 400 physicists from all over the world in Belgrade.

The public lecture “From Little Bangs to the Big Bang” will take place in the National Museum Atrium on Thursday, May 25, 2023, at 2 p.m.

Experiments at the Large Hadron Collider (LHC) at CERN, to which the current conference is dedicated, shed light on many fundamental questions in cosmology, such as the structure and origin of visible matter in the Universe, the nature of so-called dark matter, and the future of the Universe. A key role in these analyzes plays the Higgs boson, a unique and mysterious particle that has yet to reveal its secrets.

The lecture is in English and is open to the public.

Welcome!
