Cold plasma in medicine and biology

05. April 2024.

(VIDEO) How can non-equilibrium, cold plasma be used in medicine, biology and dentistry? What are the properties of plasma and how is its use in these scientific fields being researched at the Institute of Physics Belgrade?

Dr Nevena Puač and Dr Nikola Škoro, researchers from the Center for Non-Equilibrium Processes, Institute of Physics Belgrade, and participants in the APPerTAin-BIOM project (Atmospheric pressure plasmas operating in wide frequency range – a new tool for production of biologically relevant reactive species for applications in biomedicine) offered the answers to these questions for A Glance at Physics.

Partners in the APPerTAin-BIOM project, financed by the Science Fund of the Republic of Serbia within the Ideas program, are the Faculty of Medicine, the Faculty of Dentistry and the Institute for Biological Research “Siniša Stanković”, University of Belgrade.
