A commemorative session honouring the life and work of our colleague and friend, Dr Antun Balaž, was held on Wednesday, 17 September at the Grand Hall of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts.
Academician Miljko Satarić, Dr Aleksandar Belić and Dr Aleksandar Bogojević from the Institute of Physics Belgrade spoke about his life and work to a large audience, which included family members, friends, admirers, and colleagues from the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts, the Institute of Physics Belgrade, the Faculty of Physics at the University of Belgrade, and numerous other scientific and educational institutions.

As a reminder, our esteemed colleague and friend, Dr Antun Balaž, SASA Corresponding Member, passed away suddenly on Friday, 4 July 2025, at the age of 52.
A passionate physicist dedicated to the advancement of science, Dr Balaž was deeply respected and admired by colleagues of all generations and represented a pillar of the community of physicists. His untimely passing is an irreplaceable loss to the Institute of Physics Belgrade and a profound tragedy for the entire Serbian scientific community.
