From 29 September to 3 October, the Low-Background Laboratory for Nuclear Physics (LBLNP) at the Institute of Physics Belgrade, in cooperation with the Scientific Society Isaac Newton, will host an international conference on operational and research opportunities for a better understanding of Earth-Sun interactions.
The event titled Meeting on Operational and Research Capabilities for Better Understanding Solar-Terrestrial Interactions will be held at the Institute of Physics Belgrade, with the participants gaining an opportunity to present their scientific results, attend plenary lectures and participate in discussions.
This international conference brings together researchers and other experts with the purpose of assessing the impact of space weather on Earth and its systems, including the work of satellites, power grids, communication, navigation, aviation and human health.
Some of the topics it will feature are solar radiation, solar wind, variations in the solar magnetic field and their effect on the Earth’s magnetosphere, ionosphere, atmosphere and climate. One of the goals of the conference is the advancement of prognostic models and early warning systems to better prevent potentially negative impacts on Earth’s systems.
The deadline for abstract submissions and registration is 1 September 2025.
