The large tsunamis, which took place in 2004 and 2011, caused catastrophes which surpassed expectations by a large margin. One of the reasons for the under-estimated risk assessment was the lack of hazard and risk analysis methods and related uncertainties. There was an enormous number of methods suggested in the past, however, it was necessary to involve experts in various fields in the analysis of tsunami hazards and risk, which is the goal of this action.
