After the “Marko Jarić” award was traditionally awarded in March 2023 on the day of the birth of the physicist after whom it is named, on Tuesday, July 4, the award ceremony for the year 2019 was held. Namely, award for 2019 were not awarded during that year due to the covid 19 pandemic, and the jury unanimously chose prof. Dr. Marko Lončar from Harvard University in the United States of America as the “Marko Jarić” award Laureate for 2019.
After the award ceremony, which was held at SANU and attracted a lot of attention from the audience and the media, Dr. Lončar held a popular lecture in which he presented his research, and a day later, on July 5, he held a colloquium for his colleagues at the Institute of physics Belgrade.
