Fellowship ‘For Women in Science’ goes to Dr Danica Pavlović

Dr Danica Pavlović, a research associate of the Institute of Physics, Belgrade is one of this year laureates of the national fellowship which is a part of the L’Oréal-UNESCO international programme titled ‘For Women in Science’, said the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development on 28 December 2020.

Biologist Dr Danica Pavlović works in the Laboratory for Holography, Optical Materials and Photonic Crystals at the Institute of Physics, Belgrade where she conducts research in the field of biophysics. As stated by the Ministry, Dr Pavlović’s work has contributed to the field of biophotonics, entomology and insect ecology.

Dr Danica Pavlović is a winner of several awards and grants, and as specified in her biography, the author of 25 publications in the finest international scientific journals and collections of papers of international and domestic institutions.

The fellowship ‘For Women in Science’ has been awarded for ten years in partnership with the Ministry of Education, Science and Technological Development, Serbian National Commission for UNESCO and L’Oréal Balkan Group to women up to 35 years of age on doctoral or post-doctoral studies in natural sciences.

Beside Dr Danica Pavlović, this year laureates are Dr Jelena Vladić of the Department for Biotechnology and Pharmaceutical Engineering at the Faculty of Technology, Novi Sad and Dr Ana Tomas Petrović of the Department of Pharmacology and Toxicology at the Faculty of Medicine in Novi Sad.
