The Metamaterials: From Quantum and Nano Perspective workshop, organized by the Laboratory for Nanophotonics, took place from 9 to 13 December 2024 at the Institute of Physics Belgrade.
The workshop provided an opportunity to exchange ideas between visiting lecturers and researchers of the Institute that laid the groundwork for future scientific collaborations. One of the workshop’s results is a roadmap for a new European project.
In addition to researchers, the participants of the conference welcomed Belgian artist Steven Tossin whose participation aimed to popularize physics, particularly quantum mechanics and contemporary technologies through the medium of comics. According to Branko Kolarić of the Institute of Physics Belgrade, the comic is the media frequently used in education and entertainment recognized as an innovative approach to making complex scientific topics accessible to a broader audience
