Science Day is celebrated in Serbia on July 10 in memory of the famous scientist and inventor, Nikola Tesla, who was born on this day.
In the history of world science, Tesla left a big mark with his numerous patents, and above all with his work on the alternating current system, which facilitated the transmission of electricity over long distances. In addition to great discoveries, public attention has always been attracted by Tesla’s unusual personality, and the American press zealously followed his life. Clippings from the newspaper are kept today in the Nikola Tesla Museum in Belgrade.
Nikola Tesla’s birthday in Serbia was declared the Day of Science in 2010, and the Institute of Physics in Belgrade took part in celebrating this date several times.
