At the session of the Board of Directors of the national institute of the Republic of Serbia, held on 3 June 2022, Aleksandar Bogojević. PhD, incumbent director of the Institute of Physics, Belgrade, was unanimously re-elected to helm the institution in the new term.

The decision is the result of the consistency of opinions of the Scientific Council, Board of Directors and the minister of education, science and technological development. Namely, the Board of Directors’ decision was preceded by the Scientific Council members deliberating, who with an overwhelming majority supported Bogojević, the only candidate who responded to a public call for this position. After that, the minister of education, science and technological development approved the election.

‘It is my honour that I am granted a possibility to represent the institution which I particularly value and respect in the following term – the institution which has a potential to flourish into a world-class leader in the field of science, innovation and education’, stated Dr Bogojević in his address.

Talking about the Institute’s accomplishments during the COVID-19 pandemic crisis, Dr Bogojević pointed out that,  in the prior period, the Institute has become an indisputable leader in competitive projects (international projects, Science Fund projects and the projects of the Innovation Fund).
