A delegation of the Restricted European Committee for Future Accelerators (RECFA) visited Serbia and participated in a one-day conference held at the Grand Hall of the Serbian Academy of Sciences and Arts on Friday, 29 November 2024.
The Committee included the most distinguished members of the European community dealing with high-energy physics, including senior CERN delegates and representatives from other accelerator facilities.
The role of RECFA is to monitor the development of high-energy physics in member states, and after the visit to Serbia, the Committee will speak with the representatives of the Government of the Republic of Serbia, the Ministry of Science, Technological Development and Innovations and Science Fund about the conclusions future directions for this scientific field in the country.
This event represented an opportunity for domestic high-energy physics representatives to engage with RECFA delegates, and researchers of the Institute of Physics Belgrade cooperating with CERN took part in the organization and the programme of the event.
