(Video) Who was Dr Dragan Popović? Why does his legacy remain crucial to the Institute? What kind of research did he pursue and what priorities did he have while he was the director of the Institute of Physics Belgrade? How did he leave such an indelible mark on Serbian-Japanese relations?
On the occasion of the decade of the death of the former director of the Institute of Physics Belgrade, Dr Dragan Popović, two memorial sessions were organised this spring. The first event included the unveiling of his bust in the presence of his family and colleagues, at the reading room of the Institute’s library which bears his name.
The second gathering was a memorial scientific conference dedicated to Dr Popović, in which colleagues and associates delivered lectures and discussed new research in the fields Dr Popović was interested in.
In the video, his colleagues, members of the family and close associates share their thoughts about these two events, and reflect on the life and work of Dr Popović.
