Politika Daily published a piece titled ‘A Man Who Loved Physics’ on Sunday, 23 March 2025, on the occasion of the unveiling of the bust of Dr Dragan Popović.
Politika wrote about the scientific contributions of Dr Dragan Popović and his impact on the development of the Institute of Physics Belgrade, which he helmed. ‘Dragan Popović was at the forefront of the Institute during times of crisis, from the early 1990s until the end of the first decade of the 21st century,’ the article noted, emphasizing that he not only preserved the Institute’s integrity but also laid the foundation for its recognition on the European and global scientific stage.
The article also discussed his cooperation with Japan, as well as research institutions across the globe, including his and his team joining the ATLAS experiment at CERN.
‘He received the Order of Academic Palms (Ordre des Palmes académiques) from the Republic of France, among other international recognitions,” Politika reported.
